Peacock Colored Wedding at Levyland, Carlsbad, CA

What is it about a peacock feather that is so inspiring?   There's something magical about the iridescent teal that melts into blue and suddenly becomes vivid green when you turn it just so...and the way the eye is formed out of a hundred little quills that come together perfectly.

The design is stunning, and it's understandable that a bride might want to capture some of that magic for her wedding day!

And I think we did it!
Tina's bouquet featured the beautiful shapes of succulents, peacock feathers, and bright green cymbidium orchids, with ti leaves, purple dendrobium and lisianthus, and wrapped with iridescent teal ribbon and crystals.  It has an essence of art deco style, which suits this couple very well, as illustrated in the wonderful photography.

I toured Levyland  with Tina and her mother in January, which hardly prepared us for the profusion of color that appeared in April!  Our chosen palette of purple, teal and grey was beautifully framed by native plants and wildflowers.

As guests arrived for the wedding, a welcoming row of swirled shepherd's hooks carried twig baskets of wildflowers, leading the way through a vine covered arbor .

The bride and groom exchanged their vows under an archway adorned with branches, blossoms, and crystal garlands...
and standing on a cloud of white rose petals.

After the ceremony, beautiful photos on the beach

The groom chose purple dendrobium and monkeytail for his boutonniere and the dad's wore fun, teal colored thistles...

and here's the bridesmaid with her bouquet, and a special guest!

In a perfect balance of modern art and vintage appeal, the dinner centerpieces featured manzanita branches hung with crystals and candles, and an old fashioned bunch of purple anemones.

The bride added charming table numbers hand-painted on stones.

Here and there, dishes of succulents in delicate grays and blue-greens could be found, some with crystal dew drops added just for fun!

A crystal Wishing Tree with hand-written notes from loved ones will be a cherished keepsake in Tina and Seb's home.

Tina and Sebastien's wedding was rich in "complimentary contradictions"-  modern and vintage, nature and bling, sophistication and old-fashioned romance.  And it all came together beautifully.  Like magic!
Congratulations, Tina and Sebastien.
