Destination Wedding: Torrey Pines, San Diego

"Rustic Glam" Wedding at Torrey Pines Lodge

Michael and Jennifer

I'm so happy to share a few photos of this magical wedding day at the beautiful Torrey Pines Lodge.  After many months of emails and planning, the day turned out beautifully for this Chicago couple who came to beautiful San Diego to exchange their wedding vows.  Jenn chose for her colors ivory, blush and tan, and a pale blue-green, and requested lots of twigs and branches with touches of crystal and bling!  She started out thinking she wanted a shabby-chic look with her soft colors, but fell in love with the steel grays and rustic wood tones too, so we named it "Rustic Glam"!

The ceremony began with a Scottish bagpiper leading the way for the Bride and her father.  It definitely was something special that Jenn arranged as a surprise for Michael!  A wonderful way to begin the ceremony, and the beautiful surroundings nearly made us think we were in Scotland! The wedding backdrop, covered with twigs, and beautiful flowers was large and open to the gorgeous view behind! You can see across the Torrey Pines Golf Course all the way to the Pacific ocean!

The open ironwork backdrop is covered with curly willow, eucalyptus, white larkspur, dahlias and English garden roses, so romantic!
Jenn's bouquet was a fragrant mix of ivory vendella and English garden roses, white lisianthus, hydrangea, and large white dahlias with crystal jeweled centers.  She has a little "something blue" in her hankie and a special family brooch pinned to her bouquet.

Cocktail hour was held on the lawn where we grouped pretty colored bottles of flowers around the  low relaxed seating areas.

Inside the reception room, beautifully calligraphed cards held in crystal ornaments directed the guests to the gorgeous tables, set with steel gray ribbon rose linens and glass chargers.  The tall trumpetvases were filled with ivory hydrangea, pale mauve and sand-colored roses, stock and eucalyptus leaf, and from them hung sparkling crystals and candles.  Below are bowls of roses and silver mercury votives tucked among the manzanita branches.

In a large room, I always suggest using more than one style of centerpiece arrangements. On alternate guest tables were distressed silver boxes overflowing with roses, hydrangea, stock and eucalyptus, and large manzanita branches, hung with crystals and votives.

The elegant cake was covered in rice paper petals and garnished with real roses and hydrangeas, and stood on a custom made and engraved crate.
It's always an honor to be involved in such a beautiful event!
Thank you, Jenn and Michael, may you live in love and joy always!
